Massachussetts General Hospital Tobacco Research and Treatment Centre, which has deployed the TelASK Smoking Cessation Program Management Database and IVR System for the past three years presented a paper entitled: Using Interactive Voice Recognition Technology to Assess Smoking Outcomes and Link Smokers to Counseling After Hospital Discharge. The trial concluded that IVR may be a convenient way to link smokers to counseling after a hospitalization and noted that a substantial proportion of the patients contacted requested continued support.
